SCHOOL POLICY
1. All students must attend live classes on schedules 7:00am-4:00pm.
2. Half days will not receive credit.
3. Schedule doctor appointments, parties and other events around your schedule. 
4. Students will have to turn in 6 months of official payroll and complete all live classes to enter next level.
5. Any student that does not complete semester will default their tuition and 1,000hrs work time.

​Qualifications for Apprenticeship:
 
Applicants will meet the following minimum qualifications. These qualification standards, and the score required on any standard for admission to the applicant pool, must be directly related to job performance, as shown by a statistical relationship between the score required for admission to the pool and performance in the apprenticeship program:
  • Age
Minimum qualifications required by the sponsor for persons entering the apprenticeship program, with an eligible starting age not less than 17 years. Applicants shall submit reliable proof of birth date with the complete application to ensure they meet the age requirement. Examples of acceptable proof include: a valid driver’s license, a birth certificate, or other State identification.

  • Physical
Applicants will be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.

  • Proof of Past Experience
Proof of past experience must be one of the following:
  • Official payroll summary 
  • W-2 Forms
TUITION COST PER SEMESTER:
  • $700 FOR APA MEMBERS
  • $900 FOR NON-MEMBERS
Book Fee: $400
​Shop fee: $50 annually

ANNUAL APA MEMBERSHIP COST: $500

Remember to submit 30 days before class starts to the LA Workforce and to send us a copy of your letter and your approval for reimbursements to receive certificates of completion.

APA 2025 SPRING SCHEDULE

Classes begin at 7 A.M.

2025 SPRING SEMESTER
All apprentices must attend 8 classes before the end of the semester. You cannot create your own schedule.

OPTION 1: Journeyman and Residential ONLY
Must have application turned into APA by 1/1/25 and received an exam date from the SPBLA for March 1st or after.
Live Classes: January 17th, 18th, 31st, February 1st, 14th, 15th & 28th

OPTION 2 - All Levels of Experience
This class is for any level of experience apprentices that are not taking an exam this semester
Live Classes: February 7th, 8th, 21st, 22nd, March 7th, 8th, 21st & 22nd

OPTION 3: Natural Gas Fitter ONLY
Must have application turned into APA by 2/1/25 and received an exam date from the SPBLA for May 10th or after.
Live Classes: March 28th, 29th, April 11th, 12th,  25th, 26th, & May 9th

OPTION 4 - All Levels of Experience
This class is for any level of experience apprentices that are not taking an exam this semester
Live Classes: May 16th, 17th, 30th, 31st June 13th, 14th, 27th & 28th
